BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, Pa. — September 12, 2026 — Firefighters from Levittown Fire Company No. 2 and Edgely Fire Company No. 1 worked to free a trapped driver early Saturday morning following a serious motor vehicle crash at Levittown Parkway and Holly Pass.
At approximately 2:20 a.m., both fire companies were dispatched by the Bucks County Department of Emergency Communications for a reported motor vehicle crash involving fire and entrapment.
Emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene and determined that one driver was trapped inside a vehicle. Firefighters were requested to perform an extrication.
Crews from Levittown Fire Company No. 2 and Edgely Fire Company No. 1 went to work using rescue equipment to gain access to the injured driver. Firefighters removed the driver’s door, creating the space necessary to safely reach and remove the occupant.
The driver was freed from the vehicle in under 20 minutes and transferred to the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad for continued medical care and transportation from the scene.
The response brought together members of Levittown Fire Company No. 2, Station 13, and Edgely Fire Company No. 1, Station 10. The neighboring Bristol Township fire companies regularly work alongside one another, combining personnel and equipment when emergencies require additional resources.
Vehicle extrications require close coordination between firefighters and emergency medical personnel. While medical personnel provide patient care, firefighters stabilize damaged vehicles, address potential hazards and use specialized rescue equipment to safely gain access to occupants who cannot otherwise be removed.
